Dramatic chase ends in crash, from STAR

PETALING JAYA: Two suspected robbers, fleeing from the police in a high-speed chase along the Federal Highway, crashed below a flyover at Persiaran Kayangan in Shah Alam yesterday. The 28-year-old driver of the car, who sustained serious injuries, and his 26-year-old accomplice, were thrown out of the vehicle. The accomplice tried to flee but was caught by policemen, with the help of a passer-by, after a scuffle.

ABOVE & BELOW: A close up View of the damaged side door and the crumpled bonnet. On the road it is worth RM1,500(to a 2nd hand dealer) and now can be scrapped for metal which can still fetch a few hundred ringgit - but would be costly in terms of labour. Before it is scrapped, many usable parts can still be salvaged as "2nd hand spares". The Petrol filler Cover can cost you RM40

The driver slipped into a coma and has been admitted to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for treatment. Traffic came to a standstill when the getaway car, chased by three patrol cars from the Sungai Way police station for more than 10km, hit a road divider and overturned.

ABOVE: The registration BBX 8801 - It might come out in the next 4-digit draw as double 88 always signifies luck to the Chinaman. RM1 investment can fetch you Rm3000 (big or small?)

The car had earlier rammed through the barrier at the Batu Tiga toll plaza. Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mazlan Mansor said it all began with a report of a housebreak-in in PJS 10, Taman Sri Subang. A patrol car went to investigate and saw the suspects’ red Nissan Sunny at about 5.30pm, but they sped off instead of heeding orders to stop.

ABOVE: After knocking the front, the car must have spun and smashed the back
