In the second part of an interview with Malaysiakini, former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad.stated that MIC president S Samy Vellu - or any other scandal-tainted leader of Barisan Nasional’s component parties - could not be removed without the ruling coalition suffering a serious internal backlash.

Datuk Samy Vellu has now refuted such allegations when he told newsmen after the 1^st day of 61^st MIC Assembly Meeting.
