It is really a shame. The very people one would trust to get protection turn out to be robbers. It is hope they are found guilty as charged.
Four Policemen pleaded not guilty on Wednesday at the KL Magistrate court to charges of robbing a family and causing hurt to the victims. Constable S Prem Kumar, Corporal Ismail Umar, Lane Corporal Abdul Wahab Abu baker and Mohd Khir Johari Othman were accused of robbing
The four were each charged with 3 counts of robbery under section 192 of he penal code read together with section 34 of the same code that carries a 10 year prison sentence and a fine. Kuma and Ismail were additionally charge for causing hurt under section 323 of the penal code which carries a jail term of 1 year and a fine not exceeding 2000 ringgit or both.

KUALA LUMPUR: Four policemen were charged at a magistrate’s court yesterday with robbing a family of three at their home 13 days ago.
Constable S. Prem Kumar, 23, Corporal Ismail Umar, 44, Abdul Wahab Abu Bakar, 44, and Mohd Khir Johari Othman, 47, both lance corporals, are alleged to have committed the offence at No 614, Jalan Chan Sow Lin at 1.30pm on July 14.
Each faces three counts of robbery:
• Robbing S. Poruchelvi, 44, of her earrings and a Motorola mobile phone;
• Robbing K. Sevendren, 46, of RM3,500, a black Magna- box Vision camera and a Nokia mobile phone; and
• Robbing S. Selvaganesh, 17, of his Samsung mobile phone.
Prem Kumar and Ismail face an additional charge of causing hurt to Sevendren during the robbery.
Prem Kumar and Abdul Wahab were from the Selangor police contingent while Ismail was from the Cheras police narcotics division and Mohd Khir from the Shah Alam contingent.
Deputy public prosecutor Norfarihan Mohd Karid prosecuted.
Prem Kumar was represented by counsel Norhaiza Khairudin while the others were represented by Amin Hafiz.
Magistrate Azniza Mohd Ali set bail at RM5,000 with one surety each pending a joint trial on May 30 and 31.
