“I like to say he is no longer a corporate figure. He no longer holds position in PNB. So it is not right to link him. What is important is now the present. It seems he was one behind Guthrie’s success. Those responsible were Tan Sri Mohd Desa PaChi, the late Tun Ismail my late father." (see below)

Of Parthiban, Khalid And Ijok; By Roslan Ariffin; Bernama, April 23 07

[…]

Najib has described as a lie Khalid's claim of having secured national plantation company, the Guthrie Group, from London, saying the people responsible for that deed were Tan Sri Mohd Desa Pachi, the first chief executive of PNB, then Deputy Prime Minister Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman and his (Najib's) late father, then Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein.

Following this clarification, Khalid has been silent on the issue and has attempted to divert the attention of the Ijok folk to an open debate with anyone, including Parthiban and Selangor government leaders, on the "backwardness" of the constituency.

= = == = =and WHO is lying, a reply from Tan Sri Khalid in letter to Msiakini, Apr 25 07, below

On Sept 7, 1981, several of us led what is now known in history, as the ‘Dawn Raid’ on the London Stock Exchange. In mere hours, Guthrie became a Malaysian company. I am proud to have been associated with the late Tun Ismail Ali, a very fine gentlemen, during this very proud moment in our Malaysian history. So when I was informed that Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak had called me a liar and said that his late father, the prime minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein was involved, I regret his twisting of facts and rewriting of history. (As reported in Utusan Malaysia and Bernama, April 23, 2007).

This is because by 1981, Tun Abdul Razak, who was a great man with great vision, had passed away several years before. It is most regrettable that the deputy prime minister had resorted to such low tactics and even worse, dragged the good name of his late father into an attempt to confuse the public with such incorrect accounts of a historical event, merely to launch a personal attack on me.

PKR may have nominated a heavyweight for the By-election, victory for it is almost absolutely impossible. This was evidence by the move of Keadilan to divert the focus of the election. Datuk Dr Mohd Toyo (ABOVE) pointed out:

“It is a simple thing, you can see for yourself. He pointed out the directionless for PKR in Ijok. They are talking about something which is not related to Ijok. In fact, not connected to the election at all. And they say they are polite and they are following the regulations. It is not right. You see at the last night function, they are purposely standing there side by side with us and provoke us. Such provocation has never been the BN way. Anwar Ibrahim can go anywhere; we are not bothered about him. What they are so busy with our programme. We have our own programmes and you have your agenda.. How could you send people like people who have lost their minds, shouting at our leaders?”

He added the By-election should be healthy by the contesting parties and talking of matters what matters to the constituents.

“We should discuss local issues, how to develop Ijok?

Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim: (ABOVE)“It is alright if they don’t want because this new debate for the development for Selangor so we should discuss it.

MB Datuk Mohd Toyo agreeing to the debate, responded: “When we move towards the next phase of the election campaign; more focus, talk factual, talk about the future. Yes I think if we have that kind of debate publicly during this election; I can learn something from them and they also can learn something from me. Both parties will benefit towards our betterment.”

Samy Vellu-Pandithan Cooperation Strengthens Indian Support In Ijok
By R. Ravichandran

ABOVE & BELOW: The sick and frail President of the Indian Progressive Front (IPF) Datuk M.G.Pandithan was literally dragged from his sick bed (suffering from leukemia for sometime) to go to Ijok to return the favor to Samy. It must have been a torture for him to do so.

KUALA SELANGOR, April 22 (Bernama) -- MIC president Datuk Seri S.Samy Vellu's willingness to share the stage with the president of the Indian Progressive Front (IPF) Datuk M.G.Pandithan for the Barisan Nasional (BN) campaign in the Ijok by-election augurs well for a BN victory. Political observers said the cooperation between the two former political foes after eight years paved the way for the BN to obtain the full support of Indian voters, and ultimately to regain Ijok (LOST already???? not to retain it?). The IPF, which has so far remained outside BN has a voting power of 1,069 people, a sufficiently large number for an electorate of 12,272 voters.

ABOVE: Meeting Samy for the last time perhaps and BELOW: reflecting whether he had done the right thing at this point of time. The Present is his Point of Power to sway some votes
Today, the BN government and MIC proved that only they could resolve the people's woes by issuing the CF to 180 houses at Taman Suria, Batang Berjuntai. This was a very welcome news was for the 2,000 residents in the area, 90 percent of whom were Indians. "We will continue to support the BN because only the BN can solve our problems... opposition parties can talk but what can they do for the Indian community," said A.Kanagavalli, 50, a housewife from Batang Berjuntai. The BN candidate K.Parthiban, from the MIC, is facing Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim in a straight fight in this by-election. Compared to PKR, the MIC headed by Samy Vellu visited every one of the 1,300 houses of Indian voters. He listened to their woes including on clogged drains, failed street lightings, and other similar problems. According to the Kuala Selangor District councilor, L. Siva Subramaniam about 70 percent of the woes of the Indians in Ijok were successfully overcome.

ABOVE: MG Pandithan summoned all his strength to speak that few words calling his supporters to vote in the right direction and BELOW: was rewarded with a warm handshake from his former enemy

Indian residents in several areas such as Kampung Sri Aman, Kuari Ijok and Pecah Batu will also receive their land titles in the next few days. While in Taman Kilauan, Taman Tun Sambanthan and Taman Panjaran where there were also many Indian voters, the residents will receive their CF in the next few days. Although a small number of Kuala Selangor MIC division head S.P.Thirumoorty's supporters were said to have joined PKR because of dissatisfaction over the candidacy, the matter seemed to have died out.

ABOVE: He still has the final strength (with the aid of Samy's hands) to lift his hands in tandem with other BN leaders and BELOW: he even had a smile while Samy contained his by hiding behind his thick sunglasses

Thirumoorty now supports the BN candidate. Meanwhile, the Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress secretary, Omar Mohamad pledged that all 625 members of the organisation would throw their support behind the BN. With the strong support from the Indian voters who formed 28 percent of the total voters or 3,470 votes, the BN's chances look bright in the Ijok by-election. Malay votes totalled 6,240 or more than 51 percent and Chinese over 21 percent or 2,537 voters in the area. The Ijok state seat fell vacant following the death of Datuk K.Sivalingam on April 4 at Chennai, India due to a heart attack.

ABOVE & BELOW: The sly SAMY having almost achieved his "1000 IPF Votes" finally broke into song to amuse his audience and Pandithan suffered in silence

Ijok: MIC would not not get all the Indian votes April 23rd, 2007 by ronnieliutiankhiew

A show was conducted by Samy Vellu yesterday to fish for more Indian votes in Ijok. In the function, Pandithan hugged Samy Vellu and said that Samy is his dear friend. So what kind of friendship he was talking about? What happened to the coffin he brought in and out for Samy Vellu? Pandithan has suffered from leukimia for some time now. He recently asked IPF members to support Samy Vellu but that move has backfired. Pandithan’s followers think that he has no principle because Samy Vellu remains the same Samy Vellu except for paying a visit to Pandithan when he was lying on the bed in hospital.

Some suspect that Pandithan has changed his tune could be due to some private dealings between the two men. These IPF leaders were sacked for openly questioned Pandithan’s move. Partiban would not be able to get their votes, for sure. The ousted MIC deputy president S. Subramaniam has some 200 t0 300 supporters in Ijok. They too have no reason to vote for Partiban. And grassroot members who are loyal supporters of the sacked Kuala Selangor division chief Thirumoorty would not likely to vote for Partiban.

Samy Vellu has dropped and sacked their chief and even said that MIC could still win without their support. They were even not requested to turn up on the Nomination Day. Why should these 300 to 400 members support Partiban now? And the DAP Indian members and hardcore Indian supporters here (about 10% of the total voters) would certainly vote for Khalid. And we are trying to resolve the problem between some local estate workers and Khalid here with the help of PSM. The party has issued a statement to urge its party members not to support BN three days ago. Let’s has faith in our Indian brothers and sisters in Ijok. They too know that MIC leaders like Samy Vellu have betrayed the Indian community, so much so that the Indian community has been marginalised for the past 50 years in our land . And the Maika Holdings scandal is still fresh in their mind where 90% of the 10 million Tenaga Nasional shares alloted by the then Finance Minister Anwar Ibrahim were hijacked by Samy Vellu. We want to impress upon them that a victory to Khalid would be more meaningful than voting in another MIC candidate.

Najib Stresses That He Had Never Met Altantuya

KUALA SELANGOR, April 21 (Bernama) -- Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak tonight stressed that he had never met Altantuya Shaaribuu, the Mongolian woman who was murdered in Malaysia in October last year.

ABOVE: Maybe this Altantuya, not published in the local media? For those who have not seen Go H E R E for more Pics on Altantuya - her childhood, adulthood and Motherhood
and a confirmation ( April 24 2007) from a Police Source that her 4 year old son is fathered by a Mongolian man

= = = == = this confirmation is for IJOK By-election, for details go to the Link given above

"I have only seen pictures of her in the media," he said in refuting allegations by the opposition that he was linked to the high profile murder. Speaking while campaigning for the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Ijok by-election in Kampung Bukit Badong here, he also urged the Malay voters in the constituency to give their undivided support to the MIC's K. Parthiban, who is representing the BN in the contest. The Deputy Prime Minister said the Malays, especially Umno members must reciprocate the support the MIC had given to the coalition in all the previous elections. "Eighty per cent of Indians in the country support Umno and the BN.

If others support us, God wants us to be fair and reciprocate the support given," he said. Najib, who is also the BN deputy chairman, said the coalition did not want to see its candidate losing the election merely because the candidate was not from the majority of the electorate. "Umno as the backbone of the government is strong because Malays and non-Malays support it," he said. At the function, Najib also announced a RM300,000 allocation to upgrade the mosque in the kampung. The Ijok by-election is being held following the death of BN Assemblyman Datuk K. Sivalingam on April 4. Parthiban is involved in a straight fight with Parti Keadilan Rakyat's Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim. Polling is on April 28.

Attention On Ijok In Future, Assures Najib

KUALA SELANGOR, April 22 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said he would give emphasis to the Ijok state constituency even after the polling day for the Ijok by-election on April 28. "I will look at the constituency not only until April 28 but even after that date, and if there are problems that can't be resolved and need assistence from the federal government, I'm prepared to come down to Ijok to assist all of you," he said at a gathering at Kampung Jaya Setia, here tonight.

ABOVE & BELOW: The well orchestrated audience listening to BN lectures
At the function, Najib handed over grants and approval letters worth RM3.5 million toseven mosques,16 suraus and six religious schools as the Barisan Nasional (BN) government's commitment to improve the mosques, suraus and religious schools in the constituency. He said the allocation was given not at the request of the mosques, suraus and religious schools concerned.

"So I hope the nonsensical campaign that the by-election is to decide between the mosque and temple would be put to rest," he said. In the by-election, the BN is fielding a candidate from the MIC, K.Parthiban in a straight fight against the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) candidate, Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim. "The people are spreading quietly, they dare not speak in the open, they are merely whispering in their house-to-house campaign `you want the mosque or the temple'," Najib said. The by-election is being held following the death of the Ijok Assemblyman and Selangor MIC deputy chairman Datuk K. Sivalingam on arrival at the Chennai Airport in India on April 4, after a heart attack

God created two by-elections in a row so that Najib can be exposed. God loves Malaysia, do the people love it too ?
